Our Austrian site at Kapfenberg has been used for metal processing for more than
220 years. Our site at Brückl, also in Austria, was first mentioned in an official document
Out of this long history comes a great sense of the responsibility we carry for our products, our employees and the environment. We therefore aim to use resources as efficiently as possible and to ensure that this approach continues well into the future by developing appropriate innovative production technologies. We go to great lengths to improve energy efficiency on an ongoing basis, therefore reducing our energy consumption in the long run. Naturally, this also means that we must continuously work on our products to achieve a long lifespan and low unit weight, combined with an ever-higher load capacity and safety factor. We are committed to compliance with all regulations of energy and environmental law and to improving our performance on an ongoing basis and by pursuing clearly defined goals. To achieve these goals, we use state-of-the-art manufacturing technology. The provision of all required tools and information as well as the involvement of all employees constitute essential factors in this process. We believe that informed and motivated employees will make active efforts to protect the environment.
In areas where we cannot fully avoid environmental impact, we set ourselves the goal of continuously reducing the use of energy, harmful emissions and waste. When purchasing new machines, we shall always opt for the technology that offers the highest level of technological development that fits the business criteria for the respective site. We place particular emphasis on promoting the energy-efficient purchase of products and services.
Our process-orientated management system governs the documentation of all environmentally relevant procedures. This includes precautionary measures for the prevention of incidents as well as procedures during ordinary and extraordinary operation. Based on the systematic observation and inspection of these environmentally relevant activities and precautionary measures, deviations and weaknesses may be recognised and corrective measures initiated. This principle also applies to the organisation of operational processes to ensure continuous improvement. We strive for an open dialogue with our customers, neighbours and official authorities and shall inform them of our energy and environmental commitments through the appropriate channels.
Based on targeted consulting initiatives, we aim at informing customers of the environmental aspects of our products, in particular in the context of their long lifespan. We aim at motivating our suppliers and customers to rethink their own commitment towards the environment and to apply our own stringent environmental standards by means of honest communication.

manufacturing and supplying only products and services that fully satisfy the customer,
The quality policy of the pewag group is based on the principle "We provide customers with high-quality products and services that fully comply with state-of-the-art technology as well as customer requirements!"

In order to maintain and strengthen our competitive edge, the quality of pewag group products and services must comply with the specifications agreed on with customers, as well as their justified expectations of pewag as the technology leader. No product may constitute a hazard for man and/or the environment.
As a profit-orientated business, we must ensure outstanding quality while never losing sight of our resources in terms of material, personnel and finance, i.e. ensure an appropriate price/performance ratio that the customer also appreciates.
Responsibility for quality
A high level of quality places high demands on all employees. Quality management is the responsibility and obligation of management on all levels. Every employee of the pewag group must be informed, motivated and trained accordingly by his/her manager. In promoting quality consciousness, education and training of all employees plays a key part. Every employee is responsible for the quality of his/her work. All our employees must follow the motto: „QUALITY BEGINS WITH ME“
Process-orientated quality control
The close cooperation of sales, development, manufacturing all the way to customer service is ensured by means of specific processes and actions within and among the individual companies, with clearly allocated responsibilities and competences. The continuous improvement of technologies and processes aims at increasing efficiency and quality on an ongoing basis.

continuous training and information programmes on the subject, and motivate
our workforce by providing a work climate that is conducive to health and safety
- In everything they do, our employees share the responsibility for their own health
and safety and for that of the people in their environment
- They are familiar with the applicable health and safety regulations
- They actively contribute to the detection, reporting and elimination of hazards
- Where necessary, external health and safety specialists are consulted
- Periodical inspection and maintenance activities ensure that the work premises,
plants and operational equipment are safe to use.
- Events and actions regarding health and safety are fully documented and these
records may be used as a basis for formulating measures that need to be taken.
